Print Quote Studio

Nothing here runs, by design. This example shows the parts of Prototyper that come before code, and what an assistant can deliver when it has no way to build.

The progress board: outcome cards by state, with one card waiting for the owner’s answer.
The progress board: outcome cards by state, with one card waiting for the owner’s answer.
User
The owner of a two-person print shop who answers quote requests by email.
Risky assumption
A fixed price table (stock, quantity and finish) covers most requests without manual pricing.
Stack
Prototyper’s local survey and progress board, both small Python servers with SQLite, plus Markdown.
Status
Brief and simulation only.

A Claude Code subagent answered the survey through its own local interface, built the board and wrote the simulation and brief.

What it does

  1. The survey saves answers on this computer and exports a brief and acceptance criteria. Nothing goes to an outside service.
  2. The board shows eight outcome cards across Planned, Building, Ready to try and Done, with one question waiting for the owner.
  3. The simulation walks eight screens, including a quantity outside the table, paper out of stock and a request with no size. Three of them are drawn as static mock-ups, each marked as a simulation.
  4. The build brief gives a team the inputs, outputs, states, the price table’s shape and the checks to run.

What happens next

The open question on the board decides the first build step: which paper stocks the first version must price. After that, a team builds the quote screen against the table and tries it on last month’s real requests. No user feedback has been collected.
